Parents of Trans and Gender Diverse Kids – NL is a peer support group for parents of trans, two-spirit, gender-creative, gender-questioning children and youth in St. John’s, NL.
We meet monthly to share the worries and joys of raising a rainbow child in a pink and blue world! Our meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month at 6:30 pm in the Janeway Resource Centre, on the 4th floor of the Janeway Hostel (not in the Janeway Hospital itself, but in the tall brick and glass building to the right of the parking lot near the Health Sciences Adult Emergency entrance).
We are partnered the Trans Youth Group, a peer support group for trans and gender-questioning youth between 12 and 18 years of age. This group is facilitated by two trans adult facilitators. We are also connected to the Mature Trans Support Group, which meets at 47 Janeway Place (the Tommy Sexton Centre) in Pleasantville: https://www.facebook.com/MTSGNL/.
Parents and youth outside the St. John’s area can also join our meetings, via Skype or teleconference.
