Guidelines for Supporting Transgender and Gender-Nonconforming Students

The Nova Scotia Department of Education and Early Childhood Development released this document in 2014 in response to the expansion of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Act in 2012 which was amended to protect transgender people from discrimination.

This document details Nova Scotia’s continuing policies to advance transgender rights and issues in the area of education within public schools.

As stated in the document we as Canadians should celebrate our cultural and individual diversity and protect those that face discrimination.
